FEBRUARY 22 – CHURCH MARDI GRAS (LINCOLN)
Holy Family Church in Lincoln presents Mardi Gras at the Knights of Columbus in Lincoln. Doors open at 6PM. There will be dinner and dancing. Early bird tickets are $25 each or $40 per couple. Proceeds go for the renovation of Holy Family Church in Lincoln.
FEBRUARY 22 - MARDI GRAS BINGO NIGHT
There will be a Mardi Gras Bingo night at St Patrick’s in Wapella. Although they don’t typically have a Saturday Mass, there will be one at 4:30PM. The meal starts at 5:30PM and the family Bingo is at 6PM. RSVP by emailing email@example.com or text (309) 824-3964.
FEBRUARY 23 - SECULAR FRANCISCANS PRESENATION: OUR LADY OF SORROWS
Anyone is welcome at the Secular Franciscan’s monthly gathering from 3-5PM at St. Mary's Church in their Parish Hall (lower level) in Bloomington. It will include prayer and a presentation on "Our Lady of Sorrows" by Sr. Betty Jean Haverback, OFS.
FEBRUARY 26 - HESBURGH LECTURE (TALK: GOD'S MERCY & POPE FRANCIS VIEW)
There will be a Hesburgh Lecture Series talk at Epiphany’s Parish Hall in Normal. The talk will be about how Pope Francis’ background shapes his vision for the Church as an instrument of God’s Mercy. It is by J. Matthew Ashley, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Systematic Theology at the University of Notre Dame. After 5:30 Mass, there will be a light dinner reception in the Parish Hall. The talk will begin at 7:15PM
FEBRUARY 28-29 - GUEST PRESENTATIONS ON EUCHARIST, MIRACLES, ROSARY & FAITH
The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist will provide talks in Epiphany’s Church in Normal. The Friday 6PM talk is titled an “Introduction to John Paul II and the Eucharist. On Saturday at 10:30AM, the talk will be titled “Love Begins in the Home –The Catholic Faith at Home and at School.” At 5PM that day, a talk will be titled “The Greatest Weapon of All Time; Mary, the Rosary, and Daily Miracles.”
MARCH 7-8 - BSCA SCOUT TROOP BREAKFAST @ PARISH
BSA Scout Troop 920 hosts an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 6:30AM-1PM at St. Mary’s School gym in Bloomington. It is $7 for adults and $4 for kids 5 & under. All are welcome. MARCH 19 - FAITH IN ACTION ORIENTATION
Faith in Action of Bloomington-Normal is having a volunteer orientation from 10:30-12PM. They help senior citizens combat social isolation and help them remain in their homes for as long as possible. At Epiphany Church's Parish Hall in Normal, there are gatherings for fellowship of Epiphany Parish’s young adults (ages 21-35 approximately). The free meal starts between 6:30 and 6:45PM. A discussion about varied faith topics begins sometime after 7PM.
TUESDAYS – GRIEFSHARE (FOR PEOPLE SUFFERING THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE)
Come to the Conference Room at St. Patrick Church of Merna in Bloomington from 6:30–8:30PM. Griefshare is a group of compassionate people who meet weekly (for 13 weeks) to talk, view a Christian-based video and discuss workbook exercises. All who have experienced the death of a loved one are welcome and encouraged to attend. Go to www.griefshare.org for more info. Pre-registration is suggested but not mandatory. FIRST FRIDAY FOR MEN REFLECTION 7-7:45 a.m.
St. Patrick Church of Merna hosts First Friday for all Bloomington-Normal men of Catholic faith. Every month, Mass begins at 7, followed by a brief reflection, and then coffee, juice, and donuts.
